I would like to say that art has been my passion my whole life, but I can’t. It has been bubbling under the surface however. School years only offered me a glimpse into the world of art with addendums to reports as my only artistic outlet. It seems I was unable to key into the fact that art was what I wanted to pursue. I had always loved crafting and that eventually brought me around to painting.
I am self taught and have surprised myself with my insatiable love of learning. My style of painting is photographic realism and I paint mostly from my photos; it seems I have to paint what I see. I am seduced by color and I love pure color. Many might say that my colors are all wrong, and I am okay with that. This past year I have discovered some amazing acrylic pour artists, but again it is all about the color. As it is a departure from my ‘paint what I see’, it almost felt like vacation. End result I fell in love with the medium however I will continue to pursue all styles and mediums.
I live in NW Washington on the Olympic Peninsula so I will never lack inspiration for my art.
